Interesting. So where is the failure? Twitter is by nature disjointed and asynchronous. Perhaps the flow of the webinar adds some structure and focus to the tweetstream and in return twitter adds some interaction and feedback to the generally one-sided, synchronous flow of a webinar.

Great observation.  As always, tools must be used for the right purpose.  The above *combination* of tools to attend a virtual seminar do work very well.

On the other hand, I attended (once) a tweetchat-only meetup.  I found that using just tweets was too disjointed and, ultimately, not very productive.  To me, it was an ineffective tool.

In short, while &quot;Webinar + Twitter =&gt; SUCCESS&quot;, &quot;Only Twitter for virtual conferences =&gt; FAIL&quot;.
